It's been a crazy month, but as my day was coming to a close I felt a need to switch off from my fast paced mind and enter a place where all is carefree and calm-and in this case choreographed. Yes I spent my evening amongst the flow of the Grove in Los Angeles admiring the fountain that dances away at Lionel Richie's "All night Long". Like a six year old, I was dazzled by the lighting display which accompained this 7 minute performance. It is extroadinary how many people seemed to have stopped for a split second to enjoy the show!
For those who have yet to experience this magical place, I highly reccommend spending a little time exploring it. The Grove has such a great feeling of openness, tranquility and excitment. Have lunch there, go for dinner, a movie or even just grab a coffee. With a great collection of stores, bars, and restuarants the Grove never fails to provide!

British Actor, David Collier, takes a moment to talk about his new film, leisure and of course Fashion.
Firstly we have to ask, where do you prefer to shop, LA or London?
Haha – I like both! When I’m in London I always check out Portobello for interesting vintage, there is also a great shop there called Tonic. They sell menswear labels like Holland Esquire and Oliver Spencer, they also have a great selection of denim, I buy all my jeans there. In LA, I usually head down to Melrose, it has everything from Urban Outfitters to Marc Jacobs.
Now we have that out the way tell us about your new movie The Hunting of The Snark.
It’s based on a British classic written in 1874 by Lewis Carroll and directed by Michael McNeff who has the most extraordinary visual style. It’s about a group of adventures who set off on a voyage across the ocean. They are in search of an island that is said to be the home of a mysterious creature called The Snark. The story is told from the point of view of my character, The Baker. He is a fascinatingly complex individual, which is what ultimately attracted me to the role. He prides himself on his bravery, but it lets him down at times and he becomes utterly disgusted with himself. There is also a rather naïve quality to him that gets the poor chap into a lot of hot water, he doesn’t always understand the magnitude of the situations he is getting himself into until it’s too late…
Does your character have any similar characteristics to yourself?
Well, I certainly share his enthusiasm to get out and see the world, but other than that, no not really, we are very different!
What characters do you normally like to play?
I like to play characters that surprise you, that have hidden layers which only become apparent as the story progresses. And of course, variety is really important. I would hate to get stuck doing the same type of role over and over. Working on Snark was amazing; I have never played a character like him before.
Tell me about Sir Christopher Lee’s involvement in the movie.
Part of the story is told by a narrator, that’s where Sir Christopher Lee comes in.
It’s such a huge honor to be starring in a movie that he’s involved with. He is one of the absolute finest actors ever, a true icon. His voice gives the story an amazing gravitas.
A little birdie told us you started off with a Fashion Design interest and even attended the prestigious Central St Martins College in London, do you still follow the latest trends and looks?
I do like to keep a keen eye on what’s going on, definitely. I enjoy clothes and like to keep my wardrobe updated but I’m more interested in finding things that suit me than I am in following the latest trends.
Who is your favorite designer?
I’m a huge fan of Tom Ford, his tailoring is fantastic.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I don’t get much – so when I do, I usually opt for something relaxing like reading book. A friend gave me a copy of David Sedaris’ When You Are Engulfed In Flames, which I’m half way through at the moment. It’s a very funny read; I highly recommend it. I also love going for dinner with friends. When I’m in LA we usually go to Chateau Marmont or Luques, the food there is amazing; I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
Tell us something your fans might not already know about you.
I’ve been talked into trying yoga. I just bought my mat this morning and I have my first session tonight. I can’t even touch my toes, so I’m a bit nervous!
What impresses you about people?
I’m impressed by people who have great ideas and work hard to make them a reality. Also, good manners – it costs nothing to be nice to people.
Being a fellow Brit here in LA I miss cups of tea and soft mints more than anything, is there anything you miss about England when you are here in the US?
Yes, afternoon tea and scones at The Wolseley on Picadilly!
What is your favorite thing about LA?
The people and the weather. Everyone has a smile on their face and the sun is always shining - well usually at least!
Now before you go tell us what is your Starbucks drink?
Decaf iced Americano.

FAST FASHION
Wow peeps, I cannot believe how long it has been since I last posted a blog. Things have been super busy with work, and classes. I am in an great mood today and so I feel my fabric identifcation can hold fire for just two minutes whilst I discuss what could quite possibly be the most eventful Brit awards in regards to the fashion that walked or "fell" on the red carpet.
First may I just comment on Nicola Roberts. I am normally the first one who has a fighting torch to my favorite Girls Aloud member. However, last night I thought her dress decisson could have been re worked. The dress was following this seasons Trend of Texture, but I am not sure it was "Brit Appropriate". I would of liked her in one of her more elegant pieces I know she has in her amazing wardrobe.
Lucky for her though she didn't have any further hiccups like her predrocessors; the Saturdays-who in fact where having a spot of bad luck.
Molly Tripped, Vanessa should a little too much felsh (see the picture on the dailymail page), but Frankie seemed to hold the girls fort looking glam in her cut out dress.
Other girls who sweeped the carpet with flair:
Pixie Lott: looked sultry in a lace number, The Sugababes newest memeber, Jade, seemed in control in her white number, whilst I say (with a squirm), that Lilly Allen looked good. I don't want to dazzle her with too many compliments but I must admit the oversizeed necklace for the red carpet worke and her short bob look does, allow me to agree with MR Karl's decisson to use her for their Ad campaign. ( I even loved her Vivenne Westwood wig in her performance)!!!!
Right, sorry fo the lack of coverage regarding photos but there are amazing pictures on ww.dailymail.co.uk; www.look.co.uk www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/britawards/2010/
checkkk it outtt!!! :)
keep happyxxxx

TRANSITION TO FEBRUARY
January was JAM backed with lots of goodies but February is just as busy!
The Grammy celebrations went into the morning of February 1st, and we all were shocked by the amazing outfits and mis fits that walked that red carpet.
Sport Relief is in training, we kid you not, David Williams and Fearne Cotton are up to those tricks again. This time no hills or water is involved, (well not in the same way anyway)
This time it's a bike relay! David Williams and his team of Jimmy Carr, Davina McCall, Fearne Cotton, Patrick Keitly, Mranda Hart, and Russell Hart will do a non stop race covering 1,000 miles in aid of sport relief!!! Go to Fearne cottons website or www.sportrelief.com for all the hilarious footage of the training!
BRIT AWARDS ARE COMING SOON...one of the best british awards ceremony of the year, (it sometimes falls on my birthday) but this year the stars will be hitting the red carpet outside Earls court on the 16th February! I cannot wait!
Life is a never ending list this week and so I am heading out for now but will update my blog very soon!
for now though.....

Sun and Your skin
Being in the Heat of LA, I began to think about the sun and how it effects your skin...
Nicola Roberts has just poised for advertisement to show how badly tanning can be...
Gross isn't it? It makes you think how if we all stopped worrying just that little bit we might actually be happy with the way we look-tanned or not, thin or not??
I love how Nicola is now embracing who she really is and look how successful she is now?
I love her, what are your thoughts?
The snow is Falling in London
In 48 hours I went from the snowy London to the sunshine in LA! This is not January this is crazy!

Back in LA and cannot believe how the hot it is.

However for those who want to look fab in the cold (back home), but still look hot in the warmer weather, here are some tailored jakets and great sweaters I found on the high street that are worth adding to your wardrobe. That is if that bank balance is not too battered after Christmas and New Year.
Still feeling in the spirit for Sequins? Then here are some bargain pieces I found in the New Look sale...
