Fall/Winter Key PIECE!

Due to the busy schedule that I have been on since arriving in London. I feel a long awaited review has almost disappeared and similar to the speed of the Fashion world my mind is onto the new ideas of our Fall/Winter season. Or more to the point, what I am loving about this beautiful season.
Whilst here in Sussex, I am appreciating the colours and the feel of this time of year: Bright blue skies, oranges and browns from the trees and those heavenly cold evenings-unaware if it is going to rain or not.
It makes you want to grab that great big cardigan or that lyocell/cotton trench style coat (from Zara) and head out into the countryside!
For most of us 'real' fashionistas the metropolitain lifestyle is more the forefront of our minds but occassionally a drift into this quietness helps the body absorb the beauty of life.

On that note, (albeit slightly heavy)...I move on to my FAVOURITE piece for this season....

The oversized CARDIGAN!!!! (excuse my excitement...but yes, it is indeed real excitement)!

They are coming out in force: round necks/ v necks/ scoop neck/button downs/ with a hood/without a hood/ with a belt/without a belt. Then the patterns.... the decisions are endless! And the high street are just lapping it up; the shop windows are full of styles. In fact, River Islands current visual is ingulfed by their knitwear collections!
What makes this garment so special is how it makes you feel and the infinite ways you can style it. This one piece can be worn at any occasion (day or night/ formal or informal). Team it with leggings and riding boots and you have a quality day look or add it with laced tights, a bubbled hip straight skirt, heels and a clutch and you are ready for an evening event.
One can just snuggle down indoors with a good book or one can glam it up for a night out. Dependant on the colour, pattern and person these pieces are hard to wear wrong.

On that inspiring note I bid you farewell and inspire you to source your favourite piece.
From my high street exploring I have discovered several stores that are exceuting them well and I insist you check out H & M; Espirit; Ted Baker; Topshop; River Island; Zara and Mango.
With this in mind I hope it inspires you to source your favourite pieces and wear it with style.

FASHION WEEKEND 2009 In association with ELLE

For months I have been awaiting this day when...
The runways have been cleared and in place stands over 130 designers offering astonishing discounts at the most glamourous and exciting exhibit of the year. It offers that 'second chance' to experience the key looks for Autumn/winter 2009 from a number of designers.

The new location, on the Strand, heightens my enthusiasm and I cannot wait to be surrounded by the works of the selected artistic designers, receive make up and hair tips and explore the boutiques who have set up their shops!

I am awaiting 2pm when the doors open and I get to walk the rooms where Matthew Williamson, Eley Kishimoto, Issa, Bernanrd Chandran, Bora Aksu, Vsh Alom Gur and Ashley Isham will reveal key pieces of their Autumn/Winter 2009 collections.

Jaegar London will present their looks after 125 years, Elizabeth Arden and Toni & Guy are offering key inspiration for this up and coming season. I intend to embrace all aspects as these are not to be missed.

I was disappointed to miss the official catwalk shows but I long for my Golden ticket which allows me to see a show and give me that sneak peek that many will miss out on.

....My job.
I will translate for you the atmosphere, the beauty and the creativity.
Allowing you (although you are missing it) to feel as though you were by my side on this gloriously sunny afternoon which I can only predict to be filled with Fabulous Fashion! :)

until then, keep looking great......
